Introduction:
p53 is a type of protein molecule also referred by the name tumor protein or cellular tumor antigen. This gene encodes for a protein that regulates crucial stages of cell cycle thus acts as a tumor suppressor in the multicellular organism in order to inhibit cancer cells proliferation. It is known to have the specific molecular weight of 53 kilodaltons thus, commonly term as p53 gene.
