Introduction: The heart is a muscular tissue composed of four chambers; the chambers located in the upper region of the heart are called atria (left and right atrium) and those found in the lower region are called ventricles (left and right ventricle). The atrioventricular heart valves separate the atria and ventricles, and the semilunar heart valve separates the heart chambers from the blood vessels.
