Concept Introduction:
Half-life is time duration when concentration of reactant is reduced to half of its initial concentration. Radioactive substance decomposes thus for each successive half-life and becomes half of its earlier concentration and this reduction follows a exponential trend.
Initial concentration of a sample is amount of radioactive nuclide present before and decomposition or decay begins.
