The differences between the prions and viroid.
Introduction:
The prions are the infectious proteins. The prions are responsible for some human diseases. These proteins are considered as misshapen proteins. The infectious nature of prions is due to the ability to change their shape and configurations of polypeptide chains.
The viroids are the infectious RNA (ribonucleic acid) strand. The viroids are not covered by any proteinaceous covering as the capsid of the virus. The viroids mainly affect the plant host cells by using its machinery to multiply in the host plant cells. The viroids also affect the physical characteristics of the host plants.
