The general function of the large intestine.

Introduction:

The digestive tract starts from the mouth and extends to the anus. The muscular tube of digestive tract consists of esophagus, stomach, and intestine (small and large intestine). The large intestine is 1.5 meters in length and has a greater diameter than the small intestine. It starts from the right side and descends into the pelvis. The end portion of the large intestine opens outside the body as the anus.
