The waste produced on the discarding of electronic devices is termed as electronic waste or e-waste. The electronic devices separated for different works such as, for reuse, resale, recycle or refurbishment are a part of e-waste. The e-waste results in the accumulation of toxic materials such as, lead, zinc, nickel in the environment that might affect the human blood as well as kidneys. The central nervous system is also affected due to these toxic chemicals.
Higher levels of income, industrialization and urbanization are some of the factors responsible for the growth of e-waste. The developing countries are the ones to face the problem of e-waste at a higher level.
