The U.S Public Health Service requires that milk fresh from a pasteurizer contains not more than 20000 bacteria per milliliter.  It has been reported that number of bacteria in milk stored in a refrigerator at 4°C(40°F) may double in 39hours.  If a milk sample had 20000 bacteria per milliliter after pasteurization, the bacteria count after ten days at this temperature has to be calculated.
