To describe: The accessory structures of the eye and list their functions.

Concept introduction: The important organs of the visual system in the body are eyes. These organs help the organism in vision and they have the ability to collect and process the visual details. The sense of vision within the eyes uses photoreceptors to detect light, color, and movement to observe the visual images. Eyes have the ability to detect the light and convert it into electro-chemical impulses in the optic neurons. The accessory eye structures are located either around the eye or attached to the eye.
