Explanation of Solution

ResultSet:

• The “SELECT” statement is been used for selecting data from a database.
• The result table is stored with data and is termed as “ResultSet”.
• A “ResultSet” object contains a set of rows as well as columns.
• All the fields present in table could be selected using “SELECT” statement.
• Specific fields can be selected by giving particular field names in “SELECT” statement.

Initial cursor position of ResultSet object:

• After execution of a “SELECT” statement, a “ResultSet” is opened.
• The cursor in “ResultSet” object denotes to beginning of “ResultSet” data.
• It is present just before first row of table.
• The cursor should be moved to first row for reading data from first row.
• The row that cursor points to is considered as current row.
• The cursor should be moved from row to row and it helps to examine all rows in “ResultSet”...
