Explanation of Solution

The programs that help in income redistribution are social insurance programs and public assistance programs. Social insurance programs are the programs run by the government where benefits are paid to retired, disabled and unemployed workers and their families. Public assistance programs are those government programs that provide payments to people on the basis of their needs.
