Chapter 16, Problem 21RQ
Program Plan Intro
The managerial roles are mainly focused on individual management and on communication with end users. The role of a manager is managing and planning the database administration.
Policies, procedures, and standards enforcement:
A successful data administration strategy needs the constant implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for exact data creation, practice, and delivery inside the database.
The followings are enforced before DBA define, document, and communicate.
- Policies - The policies are common statements of direction or action which interact and support the aim of DBA.
- Standards - The standards define the minimum needs for given activity of DBA; they are more comprehensive and specific comparison for policies.
- Procedures - Procedures are written commands which defines a sequence of steps that can be followed throughout the given activity performance.
