In the given case, an old woman is admitted to hospital for renal failure and left ventricular heart failure. The patient shows swollen hands, ankles, and eyelids, pale and cold skin, and cough with white sputum. She has slow irregular sinus rhythms, white fluffy patches in lungs, enlarged left ventricle high blood pressure, and fast heart rate. Her blood urea nitrogen, potassium, and phosphate levels were higher. Her arterial blood pH (potential of hydrogen) was 7.29, carbon dioxide arterial pressure was 32 mm Hg, and arterial oxygen pressure was 64 mm Hg.
