Why is it advantageous for the body that lymph flows slowly through a lymph node.

Introduction:

Maturation of $\text{B-cells and T-cells }$ occurs inside the lymph nodes. They consist of lymphatic vessels which filter the microorganisms which cause infection inside the body. It occurs by the mechanism of exchange of nutrients and filtering of the unwanted foreign particles after mixing of lymphatic fluid and interstitial fluid.
