The differences between point mutations that cause phenotypic changes and those that do not cause phenotypic changes.

Introduction:

Point mutation refers to the mutations that usually affect only one nucleotide in the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) sequence of a gene. These mutations occur due to the substitution of one nucleotide for another, or subtraction, or addition of a nucleotide. Different types of point mutations are transition, transversion, missense mutation, nonsense mutation, frame-shift mutation, and mutation outside the coding region of a gene.
