Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Western Blotting is a technique used for identification of foreign antigens by running the samples of unknown proteins on denaturing SDS-polyacrylamide gel. These samples are then transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane or PVDF membrane. Staining is done with primary antibodies, which bind to specific proteins. Primary antibodies then bind to the secondary antibodies, which are conjugated to horseradish peroxidase. It is used for analyzing the bands on an X-ray film.
