Answer to Problem 1QR

Coca-cola launched the bottled water Dasani in 1991 originated in the United States, whereas the Aquafina was launched by the brand PepsiCo’s and consists of both flavored and unflavored water.

Explanation of Solution

Aquafina launched by PepsiCo and was distributed first in Wichita, Kansas in 1994. It was widely successful and was sold across the world. It is also used in skincare brands and has both flavored and unflavored water. The normal Aquafina unflavored water is derived from the local taps of the municipality and then undergoes various purification processes like reverse osmosis, ultraviolet, and ozone sterilization.

Dasani was launched by the brand Coca-cola after the massive success of Aquafina. Dasani is distributed and marketed in the United States, all states of Canada, Latin America, the United Kingdom, and many more. The tap water from the local taps of municipal are used and the process of reverse-osmosis then filters this water. The water in the bottle contains the trace amounts of minerals that were added after the filtration. These minerals include magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and sodium chloride.
