The route of vagus nerve through the neck, thorax, and abdomen.

Introduction:

Vagus is the tenth cranial nerve and the longest nerve of the autonomic nervous system. It contains parasympathetic fibers that innervate the abdomen and organs located in the thorax. It is responsible for the resting and the digestive activities such as constriction of bronchi and secretion of digestive enzymes by glands among other activities.
