Introduction:

Nutrients are substances essential for the growth, development, and maintenance of life. There are six major classes of nutrients namely: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, water, vitamins, and minerals. Based on the size, the nutrients are divided as macro-nutrients, and micro-nutrients. Macronutrients comprises of carbohydrates, proteins and fats while micronutrients comprise of vitamins and minerals.
