Step 1: Take any polynomial.

Here, a polynomial $3x^2+5x-x^2+2x$ is taken. $3x^2$ is represented by 3 blue tiles, 5x and 2x is represented by 5 and 2 green tiles respectively and − x² is represented by 1 red tile.

  

Step 2: solve the polynomial

On solving, $3x^2$ and $-x^2$ subtracts. By collectively putting $3x^2$ and $-x^2$ subtraction is shown, $5x$ and $2x$ add by simply putting together.

  

Step 3: Remove opposite and equal tiles.

Result is $2x^2+7x$
