Explanation of Solution

Geological time scales are used for measuring the geological and biological events. This is divided into Eons, Eras, periods and Epochs. The Cambrian period was a period in which ancestors of the animals emerged. The soot found in rocks represents possibility of large meteorite collide at K-T boundary.

The theory of plate tectonics says that earth’s land area as plates that is present over Earth’s thick layer. Palaeontologist are the scientists who study fossils. The relative age of fossils and rocks is called as relative dating method depending on the layer of rocks. The rate of superposition says that upper layers of rock are younger and as the rock age the layer goes down. Radiometric dating is another method of determining radioactive isotopes, which rates date of decay using half-life.
