In order for the clinician to make an appropriate assessment and provide necessary treatment, it is essential to take into account the various cultural factors which may affect the client's mental well-being. However, lack of cultural sensitivity on the part of the diagnostician can often lead to various culturally influenced differences in the diagnosis of schizophrenia.
