Explanation of Solution
Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder that is characterized by abnormal social behavior and inability to understand what is real and what is imaginary. It disturbs the normal function of human mind. The exact cause of schizophrenia is unknown; however, it may be caused by a combination of physical, genetic, psychological, and environmental factors. The other causes of schizophrenia are as follows:
- Increased immune system activation
- Pregnancy and birth complications
- Taking psychotropic drugs during teen years
- Abnormal cells in the hippocampus
- Excessive dopamine secretion
