In the long-run, a firm can enter or exit the market. In this transition, when a firm enters the market, price will still fall at the minimum average total cost. Since the market price is $10, which is higher than the minimum of the average total cost of $8. So, the new firm’s entry will result in a decrease in the price level. When the price decreases, the quantity demand will increase.
