Biology is the study of life. The word ‘Biology’ comes from the Greek word “bios” meaning life and “logos” meaning study. Biology is the science that studies about various life forms. Living organisms may be unicellular such as Amoeba or multicellular organisms such as a frog or a plant. Biological science is classified into various branches such as anatomy, physiology, cytology depending upon the organisms to be studied, and is a vast field.
