Explanation of Solution
The grocery store sells multiple products that are essential for daily life. Milk is an essential food item and almost every family consumes it. However, a rich family consumes high-quality milk while a financially weak family consumes lower quality milk. So, in order to increase the demand- the grocery store keeps different varieties of milk. So, that customer of every income group, can buy as per their need. Secondly, offering packets of milk of different weights would also increase the customers at the grocery store.
The rise in the number of tuna eaters will increase the demand for it. Since easy availability of product induces the customer to demand more. So, in order to raise the demand- the focus would be on its supply and quality. However, the demand for national defense can be increased by creating a war like situation or by focusing on the security of the nation.
Meaning of Demand: It means the quantity of any commodity which a consumer is willing to purchase at different prices in a given period.

- Please think of one example of a product that you use on a regular basis for which some of the cost of production or consumption are externalized. Please explain. - Answer asap correctly Consider a country that is deciding how many libraries to build. For the time being, suppose that the country has only three people, Alice, Bob, and Stewart. Let Alice’s demand for libraries be Q = 20 − P/5. Let Bob’s be Q = 10 − P/5, and let Stewart’s be Q = 15 − P/2. Let the marginal cost of an additional library be a constant PMC = $120 per library. - What is an externality? Please give an example of the negative externality. For the flu shot, how does the positive externality shift the marginal benefit curve (the demand curve)? We know that there will be a deadweight loss if consumers purchase the underlying good, which generates positive externality at the market price. Is there a deadweight loss in this case? Why or Why not?arrow_forwardConsider two ways of protecting elephants from poachers in African countries. In one approach, the government sets up enormous national parks that have sufficient habitat for elephants to thrive and forbids all local people to enter the parks or to injure either the elephants or their habitat in any way. In a second approach, the government sets up national parks and designates 10 villages around the edges of the park as official tourist centers that become places where tourists can stay and bases for guided tours inside the national park. Consider the different incentives of local villagers—who often are very poor—in each of these plans. Now, as the weather gets colder, there are also plastic bubbles out on sidewalks, too. A video of the dome-shaped tents on a West Village street went viral this week, prompting questions of how safe they are, not to mention just what they are. Bubbles of various sorts have shown up around the country since restaurants began to ease into this new, strange era of dining out. […] But the igloolike tents can also get costly and require strict sanitation measures, and some health experts question how safe they actually are. … the big question: Are these things safe? Along with sanitation protocols, most restaurants use flameless candles inside the bubbles in hopes of avoiding any melt-y fires (PVC is toxic when it burns). But the biggest concern is of course the reason for the bubble in the first place, COVID. Dr. Abraar Karan is an internal…arrow_forwardHow many dollars in subsidies have gone to fossil fuels (oil, coal, and natural gas) for every dollar that has gone to renewable energy (excluding hydropower)?arrow_forward
