The function of Adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH).
Introduction:
The ACTH hormone is secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. This hormone is also known as corticotrophin. The ACTH hormone is secreted by the influence of the hypothalamus.
The hypothalamus secretes a corticotrophin-releasing hormone (CRH) which stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to release the ACTH hormone. This ACTH acts on the adrenal gland and stimulates the release of glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids hormone.
