Concept Introduction:

The pH of a solution gives the concentration of hydrogen ions in that solution. The range of pH values is from 0 to 14 . The solutions having pH values less than 7 are acidic and those having pH values greater than 7 are basic. The solutions with pH equal to 7 are neutral.
