  • The standard map equations are xn+1= xn+ yn+1, yn+1= yn+ k sin(xn), which are also written as:

    xn+1= xn+  yn+ k sin(xn), yn+1= yn+ k sin(xn)

  • The Jacobian matrix is used for checking the area behavior of the system:-

    J=(fxfygxgy)

    If the determinant of the Jacobian matrix is 1, then the area is preserved. If the determinant is less than 1, then the area is contracted. If the determinant is greater than 1, then the area expands.
