To analyze:
Determine and draw the structure of the gene containing three introns in an R loop experiment.
Introduction:
Gene is the segment of DNA which gives rise to structural protein. The information necessary for protein synthesis is copied from the DNA in the form of RNA transcript by the process of transcription. The RNA transcript is made by processing the gene wherein the non-coding region of the gene called introns is removed from the gene. The coding region of the gene is called as the exons which ligate to each other and undergo translation (Protein synthesis).
R loop is the structure consisting of two complementary DNA strands and a RNA strand. If the mRNA is hybridizedtodenatured single stranded DNA containing introns, and then again allowed re-naturation ofdouble stranded DNA to which mRNA has already bound, the DNA strand forms a loop known as R loop.
