  • People use spreadsheet in order to do calculations and also they create charts. The rows and columns in a spreadsheet are called as worksheet.
    • Example: Microsoft Excel. It contains many worksheets.
  • In a worksheet, only few cells are visible at a time which can be further extended by scrolling it.
  • It contains both raw data and processed data.
  • The raw data is the data which is directly obtained from the source and it needs to be processed. It is otherwise called as primary data.
  • After processing the data, the data is referred to as processed data.

Organizing data in a spreadsheet:

  • In a spreadsheet information is organized in rows (data is stored horizontally) and columns (data is stored vertically).
  • Each cell in a worksheet has specific name in the form of alphabets and numbers.
    • The column names start from A, B, C, and so on.
    • The row names start from 1, 2, 3, and so on.
