Chapter 12, Problem 2CR
Summary Introduction
To review:
The working of receptor adaptation.
Introduction:
The main function of a receptor is to receive the stimulus and transform its energy into another form so that it can be sensed. It has been developed from the dendritic structures of a sensory neuron. Some receptors generate direct impulse in a sensory neuron and others create graded potentials and issue a neurotransmitter which stimulates a nearby sensory neuron.
