To discuss: The relatives of Person X that have an important relationship and the relation that Person X sees rarely and the reason for the differences.

Explanation of Solution
In a society, which gives preference to patrilineal descent, only father side relations is vital in terms of inheritance, emotional ties, and property. On the other hand, in the society, which provides matrilineal descent, only the relatives who belong to mother is vital.
According to Person X, the father side relatives are the most significant relationship. Whereas, the mother side relatives are much harder to see. The reason is that Person X lives in a joint family and can able to connect with his father’s relatives regularly thus, he considers it as a significant relationship.
The mother side relatives of Person X are however as equal as the father side relative, yet it is not possible to connect with them daily. Thus, Person X could hardly see them.
