For this issue, there are primarily two schools of thought in the United States. One is that part of religious freedom allows people to believe, or not believe, in any manner they choose. Because of this, there can be no government sanctioned religion – including within the public education system that is funded by the government. On the other hand, people also argue that because there is religious freedom, one should be able to express their religious beliefs anywhere they wish, as long as it is not harmful or disruptive.
