The vibration on the string and the vibration in the air have the same frequency.:

Explanation of Solution

When pianist plays the note “middle C,” the speed of the wave in the string is define as

    v=l×f

Here,

    l is the length of the string

    f is the frequency

As the sound wave from string travel to the air, the sound wave changes it medium, due to the change in medium the speed and wavelength of the wave differs due to different properties of the medium but the frequency of the sound wave remains the same.

Hence the vibration on the string and the vibration in the air have the same frequency.:
