Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

Orogenesis is the process of mountain building that occurs over millions of years. It is caused by large-scale deformation and uplift of the crust. This process begins with the accumulation of migrating terranes.

The Himalayas will grow higher and higher indefinitely because the plate interactions and other related processes that are responsible for uplifting and thickening of the crust such as folding, faulting and volcanism occur continuously. These processes are combined with weathering, erosion and isostatic adjustments. As a result, they produce the striking landscapes of Earth’s mountain ranges.
