Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The glial cells surround and protect the neurons and are abundantly found in the CNS. The neuroglia or glial cells are classified into six types based on their function and location. Glial cells found in the CNS are of four types. Oligodendrocytes are one type of glial cell that is produced in the CNS. Oligodendrocytes form myelin and thereby provide support to the brain and spinal cord.
