Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Experimenters conducted an experiment on a group of white students and divided them into two groups. These groups were provided different rooms with necessary recreation and food facilities for competing with the other groups. There was a formation of in-group with fighting for dominancy and power among members of different groups. During the next few weeks, these groups were kept together with “equal contact status” leading to the creation of hostile behavior. This was called as “Robbers Cave” experiment. The experiment was conducted with an intent to reduce discrimination and hostility in society.
