Mrs. Rees is brought to the emergency room after an auto accident. She has a rapid pulse even after hemorrhaging. Her blood pressure is within the normal range even after the blood loss. The compensatory mechanisms that maintain the blood pressure of patient after blood loss.
Introduction:
The sympathetic nervous system maintains blood pressure by increasing vasoconstriction. This is narrowing of the blood vessels, which leads to an increase in the blood pressure. Sympathetic center in the brain induces vasoconstriction to regulate blood pressure in different situations.
