Concept Introduction:
Solutions can be mixtures of solids or gases or liquids. The substance that is dissolved in the solution is called a solute, whereas the substance in which solute is being dissolved is called a solvent. Generally, solute concentration is less and the solvent is present in greater amounts in a solution. Entropy is one of the driving processes for solution formation.
