Whether the given statement is true or false.
Answer to Problem 1TFQ
The statement is false.
Explanation of Solution
Given:
The amount of voltage induced is proportional to the change of magnetic field.
According to the Lenz’s law the effect opposes the cause applied in the Faraday’s law.
According to the Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, when a conductor is placed in a variating magnetic field, an emf is induced across the conductor which is known as induced emf.
And if the circuit is closed then current started flowing in the circuit and that current is known is induced current.
Where Lenz’s law just gives the polarity of induced emf,
Where negative sign indicates that the induced emf and magnetic flux are opposite in direction.
Change in magnetic field is opposed by the induced emf.
Therefore, the given statement is false.
