ow does probability ?t into the description of the atom?
Expert Solution & Answer
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
How the concept of probability fit into the description of the atom should be explained?
Concept Introduction:
Probability is a mathematical concept which is defined as the chances of a particular event.
Answer to Problem 1ALQ
The concept of probability is associated with the description of atom particularly for describing the location of electrons.
Explanation of Solution
Atom contains one nucleus and some orbits in which electrons revolve. Each orbit again contains sub orbit and each sub orbit contains some definite number of orbitals. Electrons are actually present in orbital. An orbital is a three dimensional space where probability of finding electron is maximum. Similarly, node is a space where probability of finding electron is zero.
Conclusion
Probability is used to define orbitals and nodes. Orbitals have maximum probability of finding an electron whereas nodes have minimum probability of finding an electron.

Predict the major products of the following organic reaction:
+
Δ
A ?
Some important notes:
• Draw the major product, or products, of the reaction in the drawing area below.
• If there aren't any products, because no reaction will take place, check the box below the drawing area instead.
• Be sure to use wedge and dash bonds when necessary, for example to distinguish between major products that are enantiomers.
