Question
Chapter 10.5, Problem 3MC
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The mechanism opted by biologists for using crossover frequencies to map genes on chromosomes.
Introduction:
Morgan, the famous scientist, presented his hypothesis which states that the recombinant offspring more likely to occur because crossing over often separates the alleles which are farther apart on chromosomes. Soon after Morgan’s hypothesis, Sturtevant, the student of Morgan, proposed mapping gene on the chromosome using crossing over frequency.
