Case summary: In the given case, according to the estimation, many people in the country U died each year because of drug errors and ill effects from the wrong drug or wrong dosage. several hospitals started the use of RFID (radio-frequency identification) chips that are attached to patients’ wristbands, which allow the personnel of the hospital to check and administer the drugs to patients electronically by making sure that the patients are taking the appropriate dosage. The doctor and nurse in the hospital are scanning the medication to see the correct match of the patient’s RFID tag and the medication and time before administering a drug.

obert Eaton was CEO and chairman of Chrys-
ler from 1993 to 1998, replacing Lee Iacocca,
who retired after serving in this capacity since
1978. Eaton then served as cochairman of the newly
merged DaimlerChrysler organization from 1998
