A higher concentration of each of sodium and potassium ion is present in the cytosol or the extracellular fluid.
Introduction:
The two main fluids present in the body are the extracellular fluid (ECF) and the intracellular fluid (ICF). The ECF is present outside the cells and consists of interstitial fluid and blood plasma. On the other hand, intracellular fluid is present inside the cells. The fluids in the body consist of several solutes such as glucose, electrolytes such as sodium ions (Na+) and potassium ions (K+), water, and several other components.
