Multiprogramming:
- Multiprogramming is the concept in which several processes or programs runs in a single Central Processing Unit (CPU).
- The multiple processes are scheduled by running the programs in CPU. Sometimes, the computer will be blocked for a specific time to permit the processing time for other programs.
- If the
program is executed concurrently then it improves the system throughput and there will be complete utilization of system resources.
In a computer, OS is a collection of software that enables the computer hardware to communicate with the software.
- This helps to control the traffic in the computer and also schedules the processing time and memory for each process.
- The basic operations such as reading the input through keyboard, displaying the output in monitor are managed by the OS.
