Types of Digital Dedicated Lines:

  • Digital Subscriber Line (DSL.)
    • DSL is a standard phone line that can carry only a single communication signal.
    • It is used to carry both voice and data communications.
    • DSL and voice communication use the same telephone line to transfer the information but in different frequency.
  • Fiber to the Premises (FTTP)
    • It uses fiber optic cables, which is used to provide high internet access to permanent location of users.
    • It is also called as Fiber to the Home (FTTP)
    • Fiber optic cables are made up of two or more optical fibers which are designed to carry light.
  • Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)
    • It uses the technique called multiplexing by which ISDN can carry there or more signals through a same line.
    • The main feature of ISDN is that it integrates both speech and data in the same line.
    • The usage of a set of signaling protocols are limited by ISDN.
  • T-Carrier Line
    • T-Carrier line is a long distance digital phone lines which carries multiple signals over a single communication line...
