Solution:
Due to addition of more gas, the collision of the molecules increases against the wall of the container, or leads to increase the pressure within the system or the container.
Explanation of Solution
Gaseous molecules have a very weak force of attraction within them; therefore they are free to move in a container or a system. Since these molecules travel in a random motion, they continuously collide with one another within the walls of the container. This acceleration of molecules creates a force within the wall of the container that ultimately leads to an increase in the pressure.
The addition of gas results in more number of gaseous molecules that leads to an increase in collision within the molecules. Subsequently, the pressure of gas within a container also increases.
The pressure of gas increases because the addition of gas leads to an increase in the collision within a container.
