Answer to Problem 1CR

A food desert is an urban area which is far from the grocery store and good food resources. Growing power farm utilizes solar energy and solar water heater for the growth of plants. It leads to the production of organic food products. Such organic products are sold in the market at modest prices.

Explanation of Solution

Food desert: An urban area, where people have little or limited access to good food resources, is called a food desert. About 23.5 million people live in food deserts. These people tend to obtain food from restaurants, which provide high calorie processed food. Such kind of food can lead to obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.

Growing power farm: A growing power farm utilizes solar electricity and solar water system for the production of various crops. This farm produces 150 different kinds of crops. It also produces organically raised turkey, chickens, goats, and honey bees. Thus, the growing power farm clearly represents the scientific principles of sustainability.

The product from the growing power farm is sold to farmers at modest prices. It provides organic food with a high level of nutrients to the people. The growing power farm also provides employment to the low-income workers.

For example, the thickness and dip of a planar layer should remain relatively constant unless the map data requires otherwise. Planar layers should also be laterally continuous unless there is evidence otherwise. Similarly, keep the structure as simple as you can. Steps to producing a cross section: I. Choose the location and direction of the profile on the geological map (usually a straight line) II. Draw or plot the topography of the profile on the cross-section III. Add the geological features from the…
