Explanation of Solution
Family structure and functions influence the life and health of an individual in the family. The role of family caregiver is to meet some demands such as psychological, physical care, spiritual and social support. The family caregiving is an interactive process that occurs within in the family.
Assessments for family functioning and structure:
- The roles of the family members and the goals of the family should be assessed.
- Assess the way to meet the developmental needs of the two sons in the family.
- Available support in the community should be assessed.
- The available economic resources for the family should be assessed.
- Assess the way of resolving conflicts, communication, and nurturing in caregiving conditions.
Thus, the assessment of family functioning and structure requires the goals of the family, developmental needs, support, economic status, conflicts resolving ability and communication ability of the family members.
