Interpretation:

The maximum degeneracy of wavefunctions of particle of an icosahedral nanoparticle has to be stated.

Concept introduction:

Different linearly independent wavefunctions that have same energy are known as degenerate wavefunctions.  This is expressed in terms of degeneracy.  If two functions are having same energy then they are termed as doubly degenerate and so on.  The condition of degeneracy is useful for the three dimensional functions.
